Join Us for Soccer Showdown on October 19

Join us for the sixth annual Soccer Showdown as we face off against Empower Sports on October 19 from 10 AM to noon at St. Ignatius! This exciting event is more than just a game; it celebrates inclusion, teamwork, and community spirit. Empower Sports shares a similar mission to YC, providing sports opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. Last year, Empower Sports broke our series tie and has now won three out of five Soccer Showdowns. Will YC reclaim the trophy this year?

Our dedicated East Side and West Side participants, along with their enthusiastic teen volunteers, have been hard at work since early September. Practices have been a blend of fun and fundamentals, incorporating stretches, engaging warm-up games, skill drills, and scrimmages. These sessions are not just about improving soccer skills, but also about fostering teamwork and camaraderie. In the Soccer Showdown, the East Side and West Side will unite as one team to take on Empower Sports.

More than just competition, the Soccer Showdown is a celebration of our shared love for soccer and the friendships we’ve formed along the way.
