Fourth Annual Walleye Regatta a Success

Fourth Annual Walleye Regatta a Success

The Lake Erie Grady White Club hosted its fourth annual walleye regatta for YC at the Huron Boat Basin on September 14. Ten participants were paired with teen volunteers and fishermen from the club, who generously donated their time and boats for the day. Our captains traveled from various parts of Lake Erie to join us. Many of the boats were supported by walleye pros from Walleyes for Wounded Heroes Mike Manion, the admiral of the fleet, has been the driving force behind this event since its inception in 2021.

As the day wrapped up, participants and fishermen came together to enjoy a meal provided by Outreach Walleye Club. It was a time to reflect on the joy, laughter, and camaraderie that filled the day. The event wasn’t just about fishing; it was about building connections and sharing in the fun and excitement of the great outdoors. Grady-White Boats generously donated tote bags for Youth Challenge participants and South Shore Marine sponsored the Special Catch Awards. Each participant received a PRO WALLEYE shirt as well.

YC is stronger because of our incredible community, and we’re proud to count the walleye fishing community as part of it. Thank you for making this unforgettable experience possible for the YC crew!
