Summer 2025 Highlights

Summer 2025 was a blast with new opportunities and old favorite programs.

In June, the YC gym transformed into the “Honky-Tonk Saloon” for Teen Mystery Night,  an evening of exciting entertainment, good grub, and…a crime to solve! Someone stole the YC trophy and participants and volunteers had to work together to find out who was guilty.  Each group used their deductive reasoning skills to eliminate suspects based on the means, opportunity, and motive for each character. In the end, the YC Crew discovered it was Sassy Sally (aka program staffer Laurel) who stole the trophy and brought her to justice!

YC made Wallace Lake our home on Thursdays in the summer. Each Outdoor Adventure Sports program had exciting activities for participants and volunteers to try such as fishing, kayaking, and handcycling. Wallace Lake was the perfect location to explore, chill with our friends, and get outdoors!

In early July, we went on a ROAD TRIP! Participants and volunteers hopped in the vans and headed down to Columbus for a day of science and adventure at COSI. Groups enjoyed exploring all of the exhibits, trying the interactive activities, and visiting the gift shop. We could have spent days wandering the museum, and we plan to do more field trips in the future!

School may be back in session, and the weather may start to cool down within the next few weeks, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! We are enjoying new adventures with all our YC friends this fall!
