Board President: Mark Dvoroznak
Mark Dvoroznak, retired leader at Sherwin Williams and seasoned YC board member, begins his position as Board President this month at YC. Mark got connected with Youth Challenge about 11 years ago through Sherwin-Williams, which Youth Challenge has had a relationship with since the 1980s. In 2020, Mark retired as Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management at Sherwin-Williams after more than 30 years. During his time on YC’s board, Mark has won the Jiff Difference Maker of the Game Award and YC’s Volunteer of the Year award.

At Sherwin-Williams and beyond, Mark has been a tireless champion of Youth Challenge. He’s never afraid of a challenge, from fundraising for YC’s Annual Fund to creating exciting auction packages for the Annual Benefit and Auction. Notably, Mark facilitated the introduction of Youth Challenge to the Sherwin-Williams Women’s Club, which plans the Where Will Color Take You? 5k Race & 1-Mile Walk & Roll.
“I enjoy talking to the participants and seeing the effect YC has on their lives, also talking to the parents and seeing the effect YC has on their lives, “ Mark said. “It’s all positive and very helpful to them.”
Mark and his wife, Sue, grew up in families where they were raised to be simple, humble, and care for others. Their parents were involved in service-related projects and with their church communities. By serving Youth Challenge, the couple sees a way to honor their parents’ legacy while also passing on the importance of giving to their children and grandchildren. The Dvoroznak family loves attending YC events together, such as Where Will Color Take You?, the annual benefit and auction, Brats, Beer, Brackets, and the holiday show. His grandkids did a lemonade stand fundraiser for YC. Several of his great-nieces and nephews are volunteers.
“I think it’s helpful for them in their confidence in knowing how helpful they can be,” Mark said. “And they feel it’s both ways—that they get back more than they give.”
