A male participant and his volunteer work on a science experiment

Participant Highlight: Brayden

Brayden brings energy to every program he participates in! His enthusiasm is contagious. He loves to be silly with his friends in the van, and once he gets to YC and it’s time to huddle up, he knows how to get everyone pumped up by asking, “Are you ready?!”

Now, in his senior year of high school, Brayden’s been very well-rounded, trying a variety of programs. Brayden was on the Blue Lightning Bolts for the Basketball Showdown. His team did not win, but he still had a great spirit about the game. He and his mom even stayed after to watch the St. Peter School basketball game. What a team player! Not only did he compete in the Basketball Showdown, but he also participated in boccia this season, where he worked hard and grew as an athlete.

Brayden also attended Science Olympics programs. At the last Science Olympics, Brayden and his partner Liam had a blast together. The theme was water. They created a lava lamp together, and then created their own boat to test out in the water. He and Liam even created a little popsicle stick character named Barney to float inside the boat!

Brayden is always a blast to hang out with at YC programs, and we look forward to the rest of the program season with him!
